The drums consist of a magnetic unit which can be oriented and extended over about 180°.
The non-magnetic steel casing surrounds the magnetic unit and rotates on the axis of the drum itself.

The drums, working by dropping or extraction, thanks to the static magnetic field, attract ferromagnetic intrusions to the rotating casing and hold them on the casing, until during rotation they leave the zone of influence of the magnetic field, detach from the casing, and are dropped into the discharge zone.

The process material, cleaned of intrusions, continues on a belt or drops by inertia into a collection bin.

In these drums, the magnetic field is generated by conductor coils (made of aluminium or copper) winded around alow carbon steel core.

In this technology, the magnetizing field is generated by groups of magnets which, depending on the intended application, will be in Ferrite or Rare Earths (Neodymium, iron and boron alloy)
